On February 16, 2016 the Electrocoat Association awarded Mr. Jay Bassett, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Spectrum Industries, the prestigious George E.F. Brewer Award. Established in 1990, the George E.F. Brewer Award was established to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of electrocoating in the categories of paint and process technology application or technology promotion.
Electrocoating is an organic coating method that uses electrical current to deposit paint onto a part or assembled product. Because of its ability to coat even the most complex parts and assembled products with specific performance requirements, electrocoating is used throughout industry as a means to coat products in various categories such as: agricultural equipment, appliances, automobiles, automotive parts, marine components, transformers, metal office furniture, lawn & garden equipment and furniture, fasteners, trim appliances, fixtures and much more.
For nearly 40 years Mr. Bassett has successfully designed and refined numerous custom electrocoat systems for his facilities. Through his vision and innovation, he has led Spectrum Industries to its present position as an industry leader in electrocoat and other finishing capabilities. Now nearing its third generation as a family business, Spectrum Industries continues to benefit from his insight and guidance.
